15+ months - 33% New French Oak - Troncais / Allier
Unfiltered, Unfined
SERA pinot noir is named for our daughter and the Italian word for evening. It expresses the beauty, strength, and grace of the habitat terroir .
This proprietors’ reserve was blended under the direction of Shaun Bybee from select barrels of dijon clones 115, 114, 667 and Pommard. It was aged 15 months in French Oak of a higher percentage of new wood from the Allier and Troncais forests. It is held and bottle-aged a minimum of 12 months until it is deemed ready for release, to be poured and enjoyed with fine cuisine. It is crafted to be cellared and revisited as it matures further over time. Sera 2006 will pair well with meats and grills, winter risottos, pastas bolognese and cacciatore.
Deep garnet in hue, classic Green Valley aromas of earth, sage and black plum on the nose, buoyed with firm tannins and acidity. This wine, crafted from proprietors' select fruit, represents the strengths of the 2006 vintage and the B habitat terroir. We hand crafted this wine for cellaring and revisiting over time. Decanting is recommended if uncorked within first year of release.
